Here are some character designs I've been working on for Slamfist Media. These are part of the second wave of characters they've commissioned from me. I'll be sharing the finished turnaround sheets for each character after those guys upload them all.

Sketch of Korra done in Manga Studio. Worked at a 12.5% zoom level—let's you feel like you're hashing out a thumbnail sketch, but you're actually working on a full page. Obviously still a sketch, but it's fun!

Crappin' around with Sculptris

So, I finally updated to Mac OS 10.6 this weekend opening me up to a bevy of new software to tinker with—one of which is Sculptris (which you can get legitimately free, by the way).

I've messed around with it before, but this is only my third attempt to actually sculpt something of merit, and my first at tackling a full-body anatomy. Truth be told, it's also one of the only organic constructs I've attempted in any 3D software.

Right now the idea is to turn this into Bonnie, but today was mostly just for getting more used to the program and handling it to make something fairly basic.

Pretty fun practice. Still need to figure out a more practical way to sculpt appendages and digits. You'll notice that I didn't bother individualizing the toes—the fingers were a bear! The hands started out pretty spiffy themselves, but I made the mistake of simplifying their geometry too much, and lost some of the detail.

Sure-You-Can!!!

I'm attempting to give this blog a much needed redesign and new priority.
Hopefully in the coming weeks I'll be back to updating with more consistency and keeping the images up-to-date with my other online exhibition venues.

To start things off, here's a piece of Street Fighter fanart I did for kicks. Had this idea for a while. The fact that it was not getting realized has been eating away at my productivity, so I figured I'd better jam it out to get it out of the way, ans whaddaya know it only took an hour.
